What Anxiety Really Looks Like

Anxiety has a reputation for being loud. The racing heart, the panic attack, the sudden need to leave a room. Those experiences are real, and they matter. But anxiety is just as often quiet.

It can look like being the most organized, high-achieving person you know. The one who never forgets a birthday, who has a plan for everything, who holds it all together. Underneath, the mind is running on worry, scanning for what might go wrong next.

It can show up as trouble falling asleep because your thoughts will not slow down. As a tight chest before a meeting. As irritability with the people you love most. As a constant, low hum that something is about to go wrong, even when nothing is.

However it shows up for you, you do not have to keep managing it alone. Naming what is happening is often the first step toward feeling more in charge of your days, rather than anxiety being in charge of you.
